Functional Medicine Programs in Manhattan, Kansas
Some patients come to see me once, get answers, and walk away with exactly what they needed. And that’s a win. But a lot of the people I work with are dealing with something that’s been building for years — fatigue that no one could explain, hormones that feel completely out of control, a gut that’s been struggling for as long as they can remember. For those patients, one visit isn’t enough. That’s why I created our Functional Medicine Programs at WHOLEhealth MHK.
These programs give us the time and structure to actually do the work — not just identify what’s wrong, but figure out why, and then build a plan your body can respond to.
What Is a Functional Medicine Program?
Think of it as a dedicated season of care. Rather than showing up when something flares and then waiting months for your next appointment, a program gives you a clear path forward — with regular touchpoints, real testing, and a plan that evolves as you do.
In functional medicine, I’m always asking: what is the body trying to tell us, and what does it need to heal? That question looks different for every patient — but working through it takes time, partnership, and the right information. That’s what our programs are built for.
What You Can Expect from a Program
When patients come to me for a program, they’re usually exhausted from chasing symptoms with no real answers. What I want to give them — and what these programs are designed to provide — is clarity, direction, and someone in their corner who actually knows their story.
In practical terms, that means a step-by-step plan (not a vague recommendation to “eat better and reduce stress”), consistent follow-through so we can adjust as your body responds, personalized testing when it helps us understand what’s really going on, and guidance on nutrition, lifestyle, and supplements that actually fits your life. It also means real accountability — which, in my experience, is one of the things that makes change actually stick.
Our Programs
No two patients are the same, and no two programs look exactly alike. But here’s a look at the pathways I work with most:
Quantum Wellness Program
This is our most comprehensive program — and the one I most often recommend for patients who’ve been struggling for a while and are ready to go all in. We work through nutrition, sleep, stress, and metabolic health together, and we do it at a pace you can actually sustain. I hear from patients all the time that this was the thing that finally turned things around for them. That doesn’t get old.
Quantum Metabolic Reset
For patients dealing with stubborn weight, energy that tanks after meals, or metabolic concerns that conventional approaches haven’t touched — this program digs into the root cause. It’s not a diet plan. It’s a way of understanding why your metabolism isn’t working the way it should, and then supporting your body in getting back on track.
Hormone Balance Programs
Hormones affect everything — sleep, mood, weight, energy, libido, brain clarity. If you’re navigating perimenopause, menopause, low testosterone, a thyroid that’s not cooperating, or symptoms you can feel but no one’s been able to explain, this program was made for you. We use functional testing to get a clear picture, and I’ll be honest with you about what I’m seeing and what I think will actually help — including bio-identical hormone support when it’s appropriate.
Gut & Whole-Body Healing Programs
The gut is almost always involved when I’m working with patients who have chronic inflammation, food sensitivities, or autoimmune concerns. This program gives us the time to work through those deeper layers — calming the immune response, repairing the gut lining, addressing what’s driving the symptoms rather than just managing them.
Customized Whole-Health Programs
Sometimes what a patient needs doesn’t fit neatly into one category — and that’s okay. I’m happy to build a program around exactly where you are. We’ll pull from whatever combination of testing, therapies, and support makes the most sense for your situation.
How It Works
It starts with a conversation
Before anything else, we offer a complimentary discovery call. No pressure, no commitment — just a chance for you to tell me a bit about what’s been going on and for us to figure out together whether a program makes sense for where you are.
A thorough first visit
If you decide to move forward, your first visit is longer than a typical appointment. I want to hear your full health history, look at any labs you’ve already had done, and start building a picture of your whole health — not just the piece that’s been bothering you most. Nothing gets rushed.
Testing that actually tells us something
When it’s useful, we run advanced functional testing — gut health panels, hormone levels, nutrient status, inflammatory markers, and more. This is how we stop guessing and start knowing what your body actually needs.
A plan built around your real life
I’m not going to hand you a protocol that only works for someone with unlimited time, money, and willpower. The plans I build with patients are meant to be realistic — and they shift as your body shifts. That’s the whole point of working together over time instead of just once.
Regular check-ins along the way
You’ll never be left wondering what to do next or whether something is working. We check in regularly, celebrate what’s improving, troubleshoot what isn’t, and keep moving forward together.
Why WHOLEhealth MHK?
We’re the only Functional Medicine Family Practice in Manhattan, Kansas — and I want that to mean something more than just a tagline. It means that when you come here, you’re working with a physician who has the time and training to actually investigate what’s going on, not just manage a symptom list.
My patients know their names are known here. They know I remember their story from visit to visit. And they know that if something isn’t working, I’m going to say so and we’re going to figure out a different approach. That’s the kind of care I built this practice to offer.
Common Questions
Is a program right for me?
Programs are a good fit for patients who’ve been struggling with something chronic, who feel like they haven’t gotten real answers elsewhere, or who are ready to invest in their health at a deeper level — not just put a band-aid on a symptom. If that sounds like you, the discovery call is the place to start.
How long does a program last?
It depends on what we’re working on and how your body responds. Some programs run a few months; others unfold over a longer period. I’ll always be upfront about what to expect before you commit.
Will there be testing?
Usually, yes — though it depends on your situation. Functional testing helps me build a care plan around what your body actually needs, rather than what seems most likely. I’ll only recommend what I think will genuinely help us move forward.
Does insurance cover this?
Our programs are private-pay, which is honestly part of what makes this model work — it’s what allows me to spend real time with patients rather than rushing through appointments. Many patients are able to use HSA or FSA funds, and I’ll always walk you through the cost clearly before you make any decisions.
How do I know which program to choose?
You don’t have to figure that out on your own. That’s what the discovery call is for — tell me what’s going on, and I’ll share honestly what I think would serve you best.
Ready to Take the Next Step?
If you’ve been feeling stuck — like you’ve tried a lot of things and nothing has really worked — I want you to know that’s not the end of the road. There’s usually a reason things haven’t clicked yet, and that reason is findable. That’s the work I love most.
Book a complimentary discovery call and let’s talk about what’s going on and whether one of our programs might be the right next step for you.
